 Under a contract with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), our staff of experienced professionals performs independent technical evaluation services in support of NHTSA Ease-of-Use TREAD mandated program. In cooperation with NHTSA personnel, we evaluate child restraint systems using a five-star rating system on how easy certain features are to use. The NHTSA Ease of Use program was established to provide practical, understandable, and readily available information for consumers to use in making informed decisions when purchasing child restraint systems.
